Final run of 2021

I completed my last run of 2021 today. I haven’t had a break all year so it’s time for a rest.

Final stats for the year are

Runs 241

Distance 1844km

Best efforts

1k 5:17

1mile 8:36

5k 27:48

10k 58:56

HM: 2:41:02

Stats are fun but it’s only ever part of your story!

I’m thankful for a whole year of running with no major injuries.

Some highlights:

First Sub 30 5k @parkrun

First Sub 60 10k

First HM super slow but I did it!

Discovering trail running & being able to run all over Rottnest Island meeting Aussie Wildlife.

Moving to zero drop shoes

First 100 mile month and then maintaining that for 7months.

First 200k month

Finally working out my heart rate zones

Consistently getting out there through some pretty extreme weather conditions.

Most stupid moment of 2021:

Stopping my watch at 13.04 miles the first time I tried to run a HM 🤣

Thank you for letting me hang out on this forum. I’ve learnt lots and been inspired to keep on running those miles ❤️🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

So true. I often confuse them with small dogs. However, in my humble parish of sarf Landan the foxes are now in force so we are pretty much rat free. They’ve probably moved to upmarket parts.
