3.50 miles
Doesn't matter whether you run-walk or run, paul1960 , they're both great. Just keep on getting out there, you're doing so well 🤗
As Cmoi says, just keep going out there. 3.5 miles is 5.6 km. You don't really need to follow any scheme now. Just go with what's comfortable for you.
Good plan. As you get fitter and your energy improves you may find running increases naturally. The important thing is to just keep getting out for the benefits it brings . There are many of us here willing you on.
You’re doing great paul1960 👍🏻
I've run/walked for months this year with depression. I couldnt bear the pressure of a set run and didn't have the energy to run some days. I've learnt It's still really good for you. Managed a half marathon this weekend with minimal training and it wasn't my worst time. No pressure. Just get out. Enjoy the run. Enjoy the fresh air. I dont even track my runs now. I found taking the pressure off really helped. Good luck
3.5 miles, run or walk, doesn’t matter. You got out and that’s so important. If you can make it a routine, all the better. Good luck and take care.
I Jeff all my runs. With Jeffing you decide a run/walk ratio and keep to it for the whole run. I do eg. 4min30 run and 0min30 walk. Fits me like a glove.
But if you don't want fixed ratios you can also take eg. run till that mailbox and walk till that car and such. A bit like doing fartleks but with run/walk intervals. You can do anything you want. That is the beauty of running.
Enjoy!
Don't expect too much, just keep it up, be gentle with yourself. You're right, grief really takes it out of you, so you can only do so much. Try not to get frustrated, just breathe in nature and what peace you can.
You don't have to do anything that isn't helping you. If run walking is what you need right now, then that's what you do. For as long as it takes. We'll all still be here, whatever you do.
You're doing so well to get out there. I'm doing a bit of run walking while my knee is twinging. I just read about a lady who always used to use running as a mental health aid until she lost her husband, then it didn't help, so she stopped running completely and started walking the mountains. One day she felt like running again. It was Moire O'Sullivan and she wrote a book about it called A quarter glass of milk. Just walk if it helps.
You are still getting out there
