Lots of people walk/run Paul, especially for the longer time and distances and, like you, when you’re returning from time off.

You’ve done 25 minutes and you’re so close to the 30 but it’ll happen. Just keep repeating the 25 minute run and then, probably when you’re not expecting it, you’ll find yourself running for the 30 minutes 🙂

Hi there.I don't run/walk, but only run 2-3 times a week and only do 5 miles plus on a maximum of 2 of those. Sounds to me that going out everyday for a 5 mile run/walk is better for health than my erratic approach so I think you are onto a winner with that solution!

It's not surprising that run/walk is as fast as continuous running. When I do run/walk the runs tend to be a lot faster than if I was running all the time.

And I needed walk breaks when doing my first two parkruns as I didn't pace myself correctly and started off too fast. I now let the gazelles go ahead at the start and then gradually work up through the ranks of those who've run out of steam because they used up all their voom right at the start.

This is a sideways way of me suggesting that perhaps you're trying much too hard at the beginning of the run, and that's why you're not lasting the full 30 minutes?

Getting out for 5 plus miles a day is an absolute win! A slower 30 minutes will happen at some point, but in the meantime keep getting out there and enjoying what works 👍😊

Hi Paul. Run walk is lovely. You cover the miles really well but conserve energy 🙂👍🏃‍♂️

What about doing 26 mins, then 27 mins …. Before going for 30? The brain may accept that better.
