Hi, I need a watch for running.. what do people think is the best one. Below £200 as I’ll only wear it for exercise .

Which watch is best?
Garmin, many experts here will advise you which Garmin watch is best for you.
What sort of statistics do you want out of the watch?
It seems that the Forerunner series will give you more running-related stats than the more general vivoactive3 model I got about this time last year.
Personally, I would but the best Garmin you can afford. I've never tried Apple, but I have had a Fitbit and it just wasn't accurate enough.
I would vote for Garmin too - especially if running is the main form of exercise you want to track. There are certainly models for under £200. The forerunners are great - take a look at some of the comparison websites to see which features may be important to you. I umm-ed and ah-ed and procrastinated and then finally remembered I actually had a vivoactive 3 which I had bought with my airmiles the last time I went to Singapore for work and then put away unworn when I damaged my knee I got it out of the box about a month ago.
I am wearing it now and as far as stats go, it's fine - not an awful lot different from my phone stats with Runkeeper.
Oh another note - I am considering re-consigning it to it's box. I really don't want to know my heart rate every second of the day, how many hours of sleep I didn't get, etc. I may only use it for running and not every day use - it's too easy to obsess over all the information. That's just my own personal opinion - lots of people love them.
The Garmin Forerunner 45 is a great watch and very popular on here. I have the 45s which has a slightly smaller watch face than the standard 45.Good luck!👍
Thanks all! I’ll look up the different watches 👍🏻
I've got the Garmin Forerunner 45 and I love it. You can do so much with it, most of which I haven't got to grips with yet as I've only had it for about 5 months 🙄😆). I did mute all the stuff about sleep, stress level etc. as I don't feel the need for it, but others swear by it. It'll give you all the running info you need.
I got a Garmin Forerunner 45s on Amazon Prime Day. I only wear it when I run as sleep stats etc aren't important to me. In fact I don't know how to use most of the features!
Although I had been looking at the Venu2s, I'm glad I didn't go for it as it would've been way underused, even if I wore it all the time.
Another vote for the Forerunner 45 from me 😃
Do you though?... (said she with a garmin at her wrist). I did a list of essentials and also nice stuff to have and then did my research like that. I would say that apps such as runkeeper give a lot of data and are free. .. but I certainly dont practice what I preach
Personally, if you only want it for exercise I presume you've tried a lot of the free apps out there for running which give you a really good breakdown of your stats, depending on what you need? I kept thinking about getting a watch just for running but when I go out for a run, I set strava on my phone and its paired to my Fitbit Charge 3, so I know what my pace is as Im running and at the end I get a full breakdown .I also use the Nike Run Appt which you probably know gives you a full breakdown. So I guess I'd say do you really need a special watch? Only you can answer that.🤔🏃♀️
This is interesting 🤔! I still have my Forerunner 35…..maybe 45 is the next step for me. Thanks for raising the subject 🙂
I was wanting a watch so that I could leave my phone behind.. aahhh .. I’m now confused as what to get 🤪🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️
Am a 100% Garmin! if you have blue light there is a nice discount on Garmin watches there! The new forerunner 55 model seems to be a good budget-friendly watch.... although there are some older models which are good contenders, especially if you love your data! Basically though if the 245 doesn't cut it, I would wait it out for new models of the 745 and 945
Ah what a great question! I have a Garmin Forerunner, and it does everything I need it to do. Before that I had a Fitbit, which would act up quite a lot. But for some reason I view the Garmin as a serious no nonsense watch, and my Fitbit seemed to have a sense of humour! 😊😊😊
