This run had worried me all week. The distance seemed to be over a sort of mental barrier- the difference between achievable and bloomin impossible. Anyway it wasnβt π Iβve been following the distance runner Nick Butter who is running the coast of the UK right how. He said he wasnβt a particularly fit runner, just extremely stubborn . Iβm going with that attitude π.
Thought Iβd avoid off road due to last nightβs deluge but managed to find a puddle over my ankles in the road at about 3 miles. π¦ It was rather near a farm and suspiciously green brown. So, now after my nice drink of milk (cows arenβt all bad) Iβm going for a welcome shower.

Great run Comfortnotspeed, well done for getting over that 15k barrier, youβre all set now for 16.1 or your 1st 10mile run with that fantastic determination to achieve.
Ah never mind, we get used to running on all sorts. I lost my money and house key in a field full of cow shiteπππ. What donβt kill ya β¦β¦ π
Yep, running longer is a mental game. If you can keep yourself occupied mentally then thatβs all to the good. I have chosen certain tunes to help me π
I had what I thought was a good strategy yesterday to trick my brain. (It doesnβt take much) I ran the last 5k on my usual 5k course. Just kept telling myself βcome on this is just 5k, you know where you areβ.
I had to climb two farm gates to get in and out so got my hands covered in poo as well. I was sure not to touch any part of myself til I reached civilisation. A young mum gave me some wet wipes π. I was locked out of my house though π«
As you do more long runs you get better at the mental side of things. Itβs tougher in winter when itβs cold, wet and dark πβοΈπ¨βοΈ You tend to zone out at times
Yes. 10 miles is next on the NRC plan. Canβt go for it next weekend as Iβm away. Iβm extending β8 weeks to goβ on the plan over two weeks as I think the extra rest days will help.
Stubbornness will get you a long way! My refusal to give up has drove me to finish more runs than I'd care to remember π€£ well done on the 15k ππ»
