Hi all

Went out for a sneaky 10k this morning in preparation for the Sunderland HM next week with a pal but boy was it hot. 25 degrees

Went out at out slow hm pace 8mins km doing fine but 2 50+women in that heat isn’t pretty 😂

We decided to call it a day at 7.5 km and run another time.

Was it the right call with a week to go? Probably methinks but my confidence is waiving. Its the first ever run I have cut short😡

On a positive note I feel that my new ghost13 are up to the job- just hope I am😬

Happy running all x

Definitely the right call! you want to do all you can to have fresh legs for next weekend. You'll be surprised what a difference that makes. Fresh legs and a bit of race atmosphere is all you will need. You'll see! good luck.

Definitely the right call. With your HM only a week away, that's what you need to focus on. Might be worth looking at some HM plans to see what they suggest for the final week of tapering.

You will do brilliantly. I definitely think it was a good call. I was going to run yesterday but saved it for today after I finish work, because I knew I do rubbish. I think 7.5k was amazing.

I’ll cheer you next week from work. It’s only 8miles down the road from me. I will look for your celebration post

Good luck! Enjoy your first HM 😊
