16kms today 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️

Photo says it!!! Im training for my first ever half marathon and an increasing my long run each week by 1kms. I had planned to do 15kms this week as my long run but decide to do another km ! So I am now up to 16kms 😮😁😁🥳 Can’t believe how I have managed to do this and become a real runner 🏃🏽‍♀️

Lisburn is in Northern Ireland, Lisbon is the Capital of Portugal, perhaps someone could run from Lisbon to Lisburn, although they would need a boat for part of that run.

Thanks AlMorr!! I feel great 👍🏻 I’m doing a few virtual runs and getting t-shirts and medals along the ways. I’m doing the North Coast Half Marathon in Northern Ireland in August as my first real life one 👍🏻☀️ The scenery of the Antrim Coast is just beautiful 🤩 I’m really getting into it now - a true running addict😵😉

I know the scenery on the Antrim coast is beautiful, I was on a short cycling tour many years ago on that coast, I come from Scotland and on a clear day I could see Scotland over the sea in the distance.

Well done Daroo, but oh no - 16.1km is 10 miles, not 16.01 km. you might find a nice admin who will give you a 10 mile badge though, as I’m sure you will have done a warm up walk as well. 😉🍾🥂

On super advice from here, I increased my long run each week by 1km. Nice and steady and achievable 👍🏻🏃🏽‍♀️

Which bits of the North coast does the HM cover? If I remember correctly (from staying near Coleraine many years ago) the coastline is quite hilly.

I did about another 500m after I pressed finish!! Then I realised 🤪 The run is near Larne so it’s flat 🏃🏽‍♀️

That's hardly "north coast". I was imagining something like Benone Strand (and up the killer hill of Downhill) or Coleraine to Ballycastle.
