Well what a difference in temperature today! A few clouds, some sun peeking through, and a lovely breeze. Perfect! Off I set aware at the back of my mind that I didn’t think I had the planned 10 or so miles in me today. Instead I decided to go shorter, but add a bit of a new route on as a compromise. It’s a not a lot of mileage add on, but isn’t it amazing how you can run past a turning a thousand times, and for some reason never explore! Well today I did and found myself in a leafy canopy of trees which opened out onto a lovely views over fields. The last bit was a steep climb through bushes and under trees, which left me feeling pretty intrepid.
During the run I nailed down in my head why I do it, which is really needed sometimes. I finished the run feeling ever so good and I put that down to the smallest route tweak. So what I learned today is the littlest thing can make a big difference.

Thanks Sparky! I know what you mean about new routes, the first time I went into a local wood, which isn’t actually all that big, I literally ended up going round in circles because it all looked the same! I honestly thought I’d be there for hours 🤣. Waaah let me out was me by the end! Your boating pond sound brill.
Lol seasoned runners! I had to read that bit twice but yes, you are right. It’s coming up to my 200th run since graduating so trying to think of a run to celebrate. Not 200 minutes though, that’s about 3.5 hours - half a day! Take care 😊😊😊.
Oooh that’s loads Sparky, well done you! I don’t know how far I’ve run cos I switched gadgets but sometimes it feels like about a million k 🤣, I have the stiff legs to prove it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It sounds just perfect and weirdly, there is a little bit of the run I did today that is so like that photograph, except that the path by the fence is completely overgrown!! I did a double take!
This path got very overgrown too the further I went, and I was glad to have leggings on. A too few nettles for my liking! How funny yours looked just the same - I’m not stalking your routes, promise 🤩.
