I am heading from 10K towards doing a Half Marathon and have been given great advice on here over past few weeks - So I am now increasing my long run each week by 1k and today I did I my first ever 13kms πππ½ββοΈ Very happy with the time too- 1 hr 33mins ππ» I also did 2 X 5 k this week πππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
First ever 13kms - slowly building up... - Fun Beyond 10K & ...
First ever 13kms - slowly building up distance :))
Well done! Hope you are feeling good about that.
Oooh well done Daroo! Thatβs my next goal, 13.1k, I think they call it a kilomathon (who knew!). And thatβs a brilliant time, so congrats π₯³. ππΌππΌππΌ
Thanks - Iβm just going to slowly build up my mileage and stick with about this speed. I used to try to go to fast and then had to stop and got so cross with myself for not even being able to complete a 5K non stop. So Iβm doing it now the sensible way with advice from here - itβs brill ππ½ββοΈππ»π
A great week right there!!!
On a roll Daroo! HM is definitely in your sights. ππππ
I found my legs were tired the week after doing 13.2km. Don't be afraid of taking extra rest days if you need them. Also, at that sort of distance and beyond, you may need to take some sort of booster snack with you. I've been using jelly babies, but anything containing a bit of glucose will help.
I think Iβll bring sweets the next time. Iβm gonna rest and run 5km on wed. My legs are achey now π΅
The second time it's easier. It took me over a week to recover from the first one. Then 15km wasn't as much of a problem and the 10 mile run (actually 16.5km) was actually pleasant.
Great work Daroo. This is a sensible approach for sure.
Great distance Dario, well done ππ
Only 3.1k more and you'll be a 10 miles πββοΈ...and you'll get a badge for that one too to help you along with your journey to HM π
