Japanese slow jogging
It seems to follow a lot of things out there MAF/ zone 1-2 hr 80% easy etc. when you run slow you can keep going for ages and it has loads of benefits. I’ll be interested to see what others say about it !
When I started C25k in February last year someone posted the YouTube clip of it on the forum it really helped me to understand how to keep going. Then again when I moved up to B210k I'd remember the technique and it helped me to slow down and actually keep going up hills. Now I try to run using HR Zones rather than pace, (although I'm sure they aren't really correct on my watch) , but I'd never have kept going without both these techniques. It'll be interesting to see what responses you get
Slow running is lovely and will take you places. Just do it 😃👍✔️
My thoughts? every time I see this mentioned I think I must check it out!!!
It's a great technique, particularly when starting running. Much gentler on the knees too - running has improved my osteoarthritis. I think slow running was an important factor. And I would guess as we run further and sometimes faster the old technique of not stepping out too far and keeping knees bent may well prevent long term harm.
