17k abandoned

Yesterday was planned to be a 17k run as part of my HM plan. Beautiful crisp morning in London, lovely sunshine to make it cheerful but nowhere near as warm as last weekend.

I selected the same route as last week a 5.5k loop that I would do 3 times. First loop as great, no pains or aches, kids football matches and gym classes in the park. 2nd loop started well, by about the half way point my left calf felt tight. At 11k I decided it was best to stop, left calf was really stiff. Nothing specific happened to cause the stiffness.

‘Treated’ myself to a deep tissue massage later in the day. A few days rest now needed to let everything settle.

A wise move - hopefully a few days rest and a bit of stretching and rolling - and you'll be good to go again! 😀

Probably wise to stop. Hope you are back in business soon.

Still a fair distance achieved 👏👏👏👏

You listened to your body too so this will help you moving forward 😊

Disappointing for you - but hopefully just a short rest will sort it now. Very impressed by your restraint.
