Garmin HR Zones

I tried having the heart rate screen on during my 5K run today and ignoring the pace. My heart rate was something sensible throughout, 150 or so bpm but the HR zone read 0.5 or 0.6 for the whole run. Anyone know how this relates to HR zones 1-5? I’ve checked the zones are correct in the app and everything seems as expected. My Garmin is a forerunner 45.

I’ve had a quick google and most people seem just as baffled as me but thought someone here might have some wisdom!

Sorry I can't help with this except to suggest you try re-posting it on Bridge to 10K, changing the title to 'Garmin Forerunner 45 HR Zones', and maybe tagging damienair.

Good luck!

Thanks roseabi. I tried again on my 10K today and discovered it changed from 0.5 to 0.6 at the same heart rate as the threshold between zone 3 and 4 on Garmin Connect. I may still ask damienair why they use 0.5 and 0.6 rather than 3 and 4 🤷🏻‍♀️
