When life gives you some perspective . . .

Spent this afternoon feeling sorry for myself. Had horrendous tooth ache and nothing seems to have gone to plan at work and considered skipping my hill session and wallowing (it’s not really like me but we all have those days right?)

Then I got an email from a colleague to let us know she’ll be taking some leave. Not only did her mum die this morning, but she’s just spent 5 hours in A&E barely able to breathe because of a suspected blood clot on her lung, after only getting over pneumonia a few weeks ago.

Needless to say I gave myself a bit of a slap for thinking my day was in any way bad after reading this. I took some paracetamol, but on my big girl pants and went out in the rain for my run. And I was rewarded with A CROWN for a fastest segment on Strava! Turns out no one else is crazy enough to sprint up that hill 🤪

Oh my - you really did have every reason not to run today, not just the rain! Wear your crown with pride! You definitely earned it.

I think we all get those down days sometimes (especially in the current climate), so certainly nothing to beat yourself up about there. So sorry for your poor colleague - tough times indeed - does put things into perspective. Well done on smashing those hills - I did hills today today too! 😇
