Wow, it feels like forever since I had time to sit at the laptop and do some personal admin. I hope everyone is well and enjoying their runs?

I have been going out 4 times a week and following my half marathon training plan, I have found that i really don't enjoy running in the heat but I have also found that if I put my mind to it and focus then I can run up dancing hill!!!

The plan has given me the structure that I need to help keep me motivated and even though I am sure my HM won't be going ahead I have some great friends who have agreed to run it with me no matter what. This run will mean so much to me as it will be a year since i ran my first 5km race as part of my C25K journey so I will enjoy it I am sure :)

Hope to get on here more over the coming weeks.

Happy running folks!

Wow. Four times a week is a lot. I have to limit myself to three or I get injured. Do you run consecutive days?

I do my long run on a Sunday which has either been 6 or 8 miles, a tired legs run on a Tuesday which is 3 or 4 miles and then a short (2 miles) easy run on a Thursday and another easy run on a Friday which is normally only 3 miles.

My easy pace is 12:15 a mile so I think the fact I go slow and I cross train has helped a lot with preventing injury.

It’s impressive! Glad it is working for you.

Well done, I also found the structure of following a half marathon training regime gave me structure and kept me going. I’m taking a little break from running at the moment having picked up a minor injury on the HM distance run. Cycling 3 days a week at the moment but can’t wait to get back to running hopefully next week.

I hope you recover soon, I ride my bike a few times a week but not far as I am new to it all.

How lovely to have friends to run your HM with and what a great way to mark that year of running! I did my last one solo, but it would've been so much nicer with friends.

I too need structure, even in my unstructured weeks where there is no event to train for, then I like to have a target distance each month or at least some sort of goal. It turns out I'm very goal driven 🤪. You've been very disciplined. Good luck.

Hi tiggs, great to hear from you. That’s some great running you’ve been putting in. I think I agree with you about slow pace/no injuries, as that’s me too.,*touch wood* of course! 😀

Good luck with your HM training. I’m doing to do the same and train for mine in September regardless. Like linda9389 , I ran my last race solo and would love for Bristol to go ahead in September, but we’ll see. 🤞

Happy running!
