I'd not run properly for nearly 3 whole days, π¬ withdrawl symptoms evident, I did have a little outing last night running with my eldest π€.
I left home kinda not knowing where I was heading, hmmmm onboard satnav, took me across the aqueduct, perfect I love the height the magical floating sensation of being able to look down the valley, onto the tops of the trees, the weather literally snakes up the valley to home, the weather in Llangollen arrives in froncysyllte not long after...
I followed my 10k route, but carried on passing where I'd normally loop off, everything was working, breathing check, legs check, and having been increasing my involvement of hills, flat running is noticeably easier. 10km in sees me arrive in Llangollen, isolated, not a soul. It's just me and river rushing under the old bridge, built-in the 16th century and one of the wonders of Wales π€.
Everything's still working well, though temptation to slip off home after 15k was a niggling thought, nooooooo the legs feel full of running carry on Ian... I could nearly (not quite) see a sub 2hr HM but you've gotta be optimistic π. Normally I stop take a pic, open a gel or something but today I wanted to run, just run ππ.
It only got a little tough about 18kms in a short downhill section and boy the legs stiffened up and took a while to feel anywhere near normal, it was apparent that elusive, sub 2hr time was today.
Nothing like popping out for a quick mid-week 22k run π. Nicely done Ian!
Meanwhile I put on my Banff Marathon socks this morning just trying to motivate and remind myself to get out for my run today. But we are going to have summer-like weather today, so I plan to wait until after my errands are done, then perhaps don a pair of running shorts and expose these ghost white legs to some much needed sun this afternoon π³. Whoohoo! I'll have no excuses now.
Yikes errands stopping running, that's criminal Sask, and get yourself out there and absorb some colour ππ.
I promised myself I'd have a little colour prior to holiday time π but the colour arrived a little but, the holiday to Majorca kinda got derailed π§
It's probably safer to stay home in Welsh Wales.....
Not stopping... just delaying so I can experience the joy (?) of a warm weather run π₯΅. Weβre still fairly cool in the morning. Of course as Iβm sweating profusely this afternoon, Iβll probably curse myself for waiting π.
Are you working on building up to a marathon distance or just going with the flow and running whatever the body feels like at the time?
Yikes she mentioned the M word..... Sask that's 26 miles and a little bit. I'd love to be able to, mind willing no problem, body willing hmmmmm I'm not so sure. But with every run we grow a bit and continue to learn about ourselves and what we can and maybe able to achieve!!
Hi , thatβs amazing ! How long have you been running ? Your fitness level must be great !! I envy that feeling of breathing / legs check to be ok and motivational.
instead my breathing seems ok but my legs feel heavy and Iβm pushing myself to keep going opposed saying legs ok!
You have guided me in the past with your replies , so I took your advice and went slower but still the same feeling ! Iβve just finished W6 R2 again hard slog at the end but Iβm surprised jogging / running has not got easier or more enjoyable, but I want it to be ?? Any reply would be grateful !
Thank you Hideaway3 November 13th 2019 I locked off my c25k 2nd time around, the 1st time I completed it and just let it slip, not this time. I wouldn't know how fit I am actually that sounds silly but I just run, and enjoy it. I'd played squash and done other sports, nothing heavy mind. Guess I'd be better if more youthful lol.
That breathing will come through Hideaway3, like I said just relax into your running, learn to enjoy it and don't clutter it up worrying about it.
If those legs are feeling heavy, perhaps mix another activity, a light cycle ride or even perhaps a few walks, definitely though stretch those legs afterwards ππ.
I find though that my breathing is still hot and miss, the weather especially the wind and cold play havoc !!
Btw you ain't doing so badly week 6 run2 that's good going, but the enjoyable aspect, running is mentally challenging as much as physical
You made me cry happy tears earlier Hidden π but I'm laughing and wooping now for your achievement π€£
Absolutely awesome run! π And what a great time! β
I love reading your posts! I know I live in a beautiful part of the country, but I have such a strong emotional, happy connections with Wales too β€οΈ π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ I have the same feeling about Poland too π΅π±
At the moment I feel like I could manage a HM a month π³ How about you? x
Ohhhhhhhhh stop with compliments Ali it's just an Ian thing, it's easy to be nice, the world definitely needs more of it π.
I've tried to diary most of my runs since graduating, and it seems they're readable which is a bonus. Hopefully they may even convince a few non runners to Lace up and get themselves out there..... Wales is nice that I've got to agree on, Poland I've never been as yet!!! Ireland is on my bucket list as a definite must visit place one day before my lids nailed down π€.
Tonight I'm sitting resting π΄ the dog's walked, youngest has cycled, I'm perhaps a tad pooped but that's just the age lol... I think one HM a month is a pretty good idea π€ today was my 2nd in April and 3rd in total
