Itβs far better than I had expected glad I didnβt push on any further. Iβm climbing up the wall and need to get out there, did a brisk mile walk at work yesterday and it wasnβt too bad the only slight problem was it was in work boots so now have a bit if a shin splint. π Will have a go on Sunday see how it goes π€
Me too - thanks Abi π. I did 1k as my distance in November too, so I'll carry forward my 4'15" best time then as an initial target β¦β¦.. not hopeful though
I thought, how am I going to do this as I record in miles...but I've found a nearby segment that's 1km so I'll use that. It's uphill but only 1.2%. I'm IN! πββοΈ
Don't blame you. If it wasn't for the segment I could still have joined, it would just have meant some conversions on my pocket calculator or switching to metric once a week. Imagine the joy of being told I had already completed a mile, only to be crushed when I realised today was a km day!
There isn't an existing 1km segment near me, but it occurred to me today - maybe we could create a Strava segment of 1km anywhere we wanted? I might look at doing that rather than faffing with my watch or trying to calculate parts of a run. Will have a play before my run tomorrow and see π€
You know you want to be a greyhound for 1k cheekychipmunks . Do a nice slow km to warm up and then pretend you are doing the last km if Parkrun. Iβve seen you sprint remember. π
Thanks π I tend to use miles, I guess I could switch it to km and back again for one run. As long as I remember to switch it back again it or I'll think I've gone all quick next time I'm out π
Are you on Strava? If so, look for a 1km segment near your house and it will do the recording for you. I was lucky enough to find one. If you can only find one a bit longer or shorter, do a simple calculation to pro rata up or down?
Speaking of new challenges, I downloaded a tailored, fitness plan from Nike Run Club app just now. I assume itβs running and various strength stuff inc yoga.
Iβm doing Joe Wicks PE too, which was hilarious this morning. Joyous stuff Itβs for all the family to do alone or together, with everyone around the world tuning in live to join in. I was laughing that much this morning I kept stopping π
Look at todayβs. Do it ! Itβs so funny He does so much work itβs awesome. All with his arm in plaster as he fell off his bike and had to have it wired up. He didnβt miss a session though π. In fancy dress too π
I thought it was just racing plans but itβs not. I picked a βGet More Fitβ plan. Fitter for running that is, bearing in mind itβs a running app You can choose a race plan though if you want Iβve done several of those
There was a third choice but I forgot what it was I canβt see the other options now that Iβve selected one
Whatever plan you choose, input correct data as the plan they give you is based on the answers you give π.
I run in miles... but for this Iβm going to choose 1km. I think that will enable me to go back to two runs a week as I can easily tag a quick 1k to the end of a dog walk.
You don't have access to input data, so you're safe π
