Well, we've just been constrained a bit more - running only in a radius of 1km around your house and only for an hour was announced last night.
I am going to have to get creative with my route to manage that without too many hills - my favourite riverside route and the woods have been declared off limits too, so it's village roads / pavements, and, unfortunately for my poor menisucs, hills, hills and more hills - I guess I can work up to sprints over 250m....
I can see an onthegomap.com session coming up...
On the plus side, even with the constraints - 1 hour gives me, even at my slow pace, up to 6km to work up to, so I will be slowly working up to 5km x 2 per week and a 6k per week all being well - even if I have to go backwards and forwards over a little route, laps is not the worst thing that can happen at the moment.
Run well, run safe everyone

So glad you are being so positive 😃 It will come to an end at some point. Guess the dogs will have to get used to walking in ever decreasing circles as well. Take care xx
Great attitude BIT. I think us runners are thankful for small mercies. If we get similar restrictions eventually, I do have a decent sized garden to do laps round. It’s sloping though, so I’d need to change direction often! Oh well!
They've not defeated you yet! I don't know about you, but I don't normally run every day - I guess that's another way to increase running - shorter runs, but every day instead. Even just getting out at all makes a huge difference, I think we can still count ourselves 'lucky'. Stay safe 🙂
I will try that once my knee is fully healed maybe, but at the moment, once every 2-3 days is all I can manage - it's hurting less and less but it still hurts the day after a run.
Probably a good idea to have one day off running each week to do strength training - I do kettlebells and our trainer’s starting virtual classes this week.
That's very true. I would normally take far more days rest, but if we get really restricted on time allowed outdoors, I can imagine I might feel the need for a short run each day. I've had too many injuries to consider running every day in anything other than extra ordinary circumstances. I love how all these virtual fitness classes are popping up (both my pilates classes are now being recorded or live streamed). It amazes me that Zoom and Teams and so on are handling the extra traffic as well as they are - long may it continue!
