So I did my first solo parkrun today. I got to my startline (a tree in the woods behind my house) at bang on 9am. I had planned the route out yesterday, it's a bit of a killer as the last mile is a fairly steep uphill and as the whole thing is a trail run it's a lot slower than my usual parkrun.
I really want to keep this going every week, as long as we are still allowed out on our own. I love the routine of parkrun and keeping the structure of a 9am start and a 5k route is important to me. Plus, I now have the course pb (assuming no one else has ever run it), so gonna try and beat that next week! Maybe the week after I'll get up that final hill without walking. Got to have something to aim for
I also liked thinking that there are many other people around the world doing the same thing as me, even though we can't see each other it's good to know in one sense we're all together.
