Just wanted to share my thoughts with you in case it helps anyone else who may be like I was and struggling to get their head around this running malarkey.
I am a inexperienced runner, been running for around 14 months now and am working my way to HM distance for the first time. I have been lost in the avalanche of information about training plans that is on the web, and there wasn’t one that really fitted with my needs or circumstances, I have to walk a lot of miles each day, and am not concerned how long my HM takes as it is only me and my two pups running it. I don’t know any other runners to turn to for advice.
To cut a long story short I have now found a running coach who I trust to make my dream of running a HM come true, we will probably never meet in the flesh, but he has made me a tailored running plan to get me to 21k , we talk on the phone, he text and voice messages me regularly, I got a quick pep What’s app voice message just before setting out on my run today, as he knows my schedule, and I am finding it really helpful to be able to talk to someone who really understands what it is like to train for a goal. My friends are supportive, but just don’t get running, and have no idea what it feels like to have a bad run for instance, Jake , my coach does.
So I would suggest to anyone in my shoes to consider a running coach, he has been worth every penny so far 🙂🐾🐾🏃♀️
