Getting Nearer and this arrived

My BigHalf Marathon is only 4 weeks away. I am a little concerned that I want to do it justice as have run a practice one on Christmas Eve but have done two Parkruns in the morning but performance is not same as my usual evening runs. Although the latest one my second was an improvement with a PB as made a lot of changes to the 1st, not so many clothes, it wasn’t so cold although very breezy, did not eat breakfast before just a banana, no drinks, and used the loo before going to the run. So a little concerned as don’t seem to run so well in the morning. Then later on this arrived bringing home how close it is getting will be getting name put on it.

I run better in the late afternoons too but think on race day the adrenaline and atmosphere take over. I suspect you will find the same, so don't worry about the timing - you are ready and will smash it! Good luck.🙂

Many thanks will endeavour to evict Mr Nagging Doubt especially on the day.

I agree with Sandraj39 - race magic will provide that extra boost on the day. Over the next 4 weeks, if you can do any more morning runs you can use them to fine tune what works best for you at that time of day. You've got this!

Thanks I am afraid I get up early enough as it is so will have to rely on the race magic. I have done the distance so know it’s there in the body and legs will just have to go steady.

Yep, I'm another one that runs much better in the afternoons (or evenings, given half a chance), but on the day I am carried along nicely by the atmosphere 🙂 It won't feel like a regular training run, don't worry. You'll be on fire 🔥 (in a good way!). Do have that banana though, I always run an event better on a banana.
