Help me spend £30

I'm rubbish at spending money. There are things I want to get, but I spend so long umming and arrrring about it that I end up persuading myself I don't actually need it, so don't bother.

The bank manager loves this, but my desire for stuff really suffers.

Anyway, mother-in-law got me £30 Amazon Vouchers for Christmas, which means I need to spend them. The problem I've got, is what do I spend them on?

How would you prioritise you money on running gear? My wants list is Bluetooth earphones, New shoes, Garmin watch, my thought process below...

Or is there something else you would prioritise a £30 Amazon voucher on first?

1. Bluetooth Earphones.

I love my current Sony £10 wired buds, but I really do want to go wireless. But I don't know what to get. True wireless, corded Bluetooth buds or bone conduction? I prefer the idea of budget bargains but I'm really fussy about earphones. I want them to go in, sound good and be forgotten about, not constantly having to readjust them to stop them dropping out.

2. New Shoes

I currently have two pairs of second hand brook glycerin 16s that a friend passed on to me. They're past their best and need to be replaced, but I can't afford to get an expensive pair just yet, so do find a £30 pair of runners on Amazon, or hold off, saving my vouchers until I can afford a decent pair?

3. Garmin

Nothing wrong with my cheap Amazfit Bip. Does everything I need it to do... It's just not a Garmin, which I would really like to upgrade it to.

I would go with a Garmin but I think you’d probably have to add some cash to your £30. What about socks? Good socks are critical when we start to put in the miles and a decent pair could set you back anything from £10. But you can probably get some reduced on Amazon atm.

Socks are a brilliant idea. And will be perfect coming from the mother-in-law - it's what she usually buys me anyway 🤣🤣

I just posted a reply only to lose it 🤨. Drat

Anyway my thoughts as a running peasant

Bluetooth headphones. I just got a free pair from WW and they’re good. The sound is fine - every bit as good as my Apple ones which were crud quality 🙄. So, you won’t need to pay much. I noticed Argos was selling Sony ones yesterday so I bet there’ll be bargains on Amazon. The earplugs fit great as well 😃👍

A merino running top, and you’ll get change

Garmin watch wise the forerunner 10 is a snip. I like mine but I got the f15 as I wanted longer battery life. I didn’t get it unfortunately as it ran out of power before four hours was up, so not better than the F10 🤷‍♀️ So the F10 would be fine for between 3 and 4 hours on a full charge It’s a simple watch which I like as I’m not bothered about bells and whistles

What about an Aonijie running pack? A boon for the impoverished long distance runner. I asked Santa for one as I noticed lots of runners wearing them on my recent marathon. Anyway I was very good and got one! I got the 5 litre one rather than the 10 litre I wanted (my husband, erm I mean Santa, is dyslexic 🙈). No matter though as it’s good 🙂. Given the choice I’d go with the ten litre one as it has side storage cubbies These are from Amazon. We discussed used these before on HU so do have a read Also the 10 litre one is reviewed on YouTube by the lady runner - Wild Ginger Running

Happy shopping! Photos are compulsory by the way 👍

Earphones - I've used these for a year plus. They are over-ear so a) the sound is better; b) they don't fall out!

Ooohhh.. Happy shopping!

I'd put it towards a garmin if u have spare cash to go towards it.. Or keep it a while until something really grabs u 🤔😊

For me I would invest in a new pair of running shoes. You can get some good brands with bargains in the sales and maybe you’ll only have to inject a small amount of cash to them. Take a look🧐

Or how about some new running tops ? Or a Garmin ? Oh..........! there’s such a lot to choose🤣🤣🤣

My dilemma for me is a guitar stool. I would like a fender make as my guitar is a fender.

At the moment when I’m playing and recording I sit on an old cranky wooden chair

But which one to choose .......!🧐 😫😫

Happy shopping!👍🤣🤣🤣
