There is a special feeling being last.

Following my first HM last Sunday, I ran a 10k today in support of my local school, There weren't many in the 10k - about 30. And it was a hilly route. So with still tired legs, I knew I'd be last, as I was running on empty.

Consequently, it was great to have the marshals cheer me round, and about 30 people cheering me in at the finish line. And the route turned out over 10k, at 10.11k. My average speed was 6.59/km, and it's my second fastest time.

The mental challenge was brutal! I was glad to see the finish line! Being last isn't so bad.

Well done Teresa! Next time take me. You wouldn’t be last then! 😅😅

Absolute kudos for running 10k after your HM last week. That’s impressive going. 👏👏👏

Wow! You must have been kn@ckered so soon after your HM. Thats a good 10k time any day - it must've been an unusually speedy field for 1h10m to warrant last place! Go you!

Yes indeed! Must have been all youngsters! 1,10 on a hilly course is absolutely fine!

Well done you 👍🏻😁

The 10k field was only two dozen runners. By mile 4 I realised I was going to be last...so just decided "to hell with it being a race".

At least I could tell the marshals that they could stand down, as I was the last runner coming through. #everycloud

I agree with the others - that's a good time on hilly course.. a week after your HM too!

I have also realised that I too have a 10k booked a week after my HM in November...doh!🙂

Take it easy on the 10k. I pushed too hard; paying the price today 😬

Wow, that's a great time, especially on a hilly course, and to come in with that time a week after a HM - respect! Last? Pfft, who cares? I haven't come in last yet, but it will happen one day. On that day I will offer my last place as my gift to all the other runners :D :D :D How nice, though, that you had your finish party - kudos to the marshals and the organisers to cheering you in :)

That's a brilliant idea!

There were 25 people waiting for me at the finish line, all clapping and cheering. Plus one of the runners who had already finished came out to meet me and ran with me for the last 1k.

The running community are truly amazing 🥇🏃‍♀️

It was supposed to be a drizzly day yesterday morning, but turned out dry and sunny. I wanted the drizzle to keep me cool! 😫
