I had the first workout of my 28 day body transformation challenge at the gym last night and it was brutal (lunges, squats, planks and bridges) and I wobbled down the stairs when I got home. That didn’t bode well for the long run I had planned in solidarity with my fellow musketeers cheekychipmunks and Dexy5 not forgetting UpTheStanley as they went for their landmark distances. It turns out I set off a little later so we didn’t run all of it together, but, having done 12k last week, I wanted to get 14k in so that I can do another 10 miles before GSR. My target time for GSR is 1:52 (7m/km) so I was looking for 1:38 for 14k and at 10k I was spot on target at 69:56. The next 2k were OK but then I started to fade and dropped back to 7:15 for the last 2k. Still I was very happy with 1:38:37 and even more overjoyed that my lovely friends completed their runs. All for one and one for all! 🤺🤺🤺

That is a great run Sandie; sorry I was the only musketeer not on duty today. (swimming 🙄!) . The future doesn't have to be about further. Stronger, fitter and just fun will do fine. Maybe cheeky will hang up her magic wand and convert her cauldron to a nappy boiler......maybe 😉
I am definitely not tempted to do the full half and am looking forward to getting back to 10ks. Might try to find some more slightly wacky ones like the Wine Run for next year! At least cheekychipmunks has said she isn’t going for the marathon. Phew! Mind you, it will be just her luck to get a place at London and I don’t know if she’ll be able to resist 😂
Your pace is phenomenal Sandie! You’re definitely going to need to bring a pile of magazines to read while you’re waiting for me at the end of the GSR! Really well done you! 🏃♀️👊👍

I replied to a post on Facebook for ladies over 50 in Lincoln to take on this challenge, thinking it wouldn’t be too hard, but oh my goodness 😫 Still, if I can strengthen the old legs and glutes in the next 4 weeks, it will all help!

I wish I could have run at the same times as all of you. I didn’t know you or Dexy5 were running Sandie, but cheekychipmunks and UpTheStanley were definitely in my thoughts as I made my way up and down the Greenway. Looks like you’re well on track for GSR, you’re all going to smash it! 👊 😀
I was keeping it quiet as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do it. But Stanley’s and cheeky’s HM was amazing.

Blimey! Sandie as the lady said “I’ll have what she’s having” you’re amazing! Feeling a fraud on this site but after being wifi and phone signal free for several days, need a fix. 🏃♀️🏋️♀️
