So I ran my first half marathon 6 days ago and I’m in one piece and feeling great. What should I be doing next to make sure I don’t lose what I’ve gained in training for it? Next goal is a marathon, but I’ll give it sis months at least to get there- so what’s the best plan in between to keep at the same level or hopefully improve? All advice very gratefully received.

I'm in the same position. I'm going to start gradually increasing my long runs up to 15-16 miles.

I shall be interested to see what you decide, as I’ve been wondering what I will do when my half is over, other than do some free running and take photos again

I always want to keep things ticking over after a half, but reality doesn't tend to agree. My plan this time is to set myself a time-based goal for my long runs after next week's half, and work on increasing the distance during my run time.

If it was me I would book another HM for 2-3 months time. That means I would need to consolidae my training and keep my long run every week (with a reset week every 4 weeks). So by the time I have completed my next I have built a good base and can go on from there.
