Has anyone here or anyone you know gone for pro sports analysis? If so, did you/ they find it of benefit?

The university of Chichester has a sports sciences division and I'm giving serious thoughts to going along for their mid level analysis covering lactate threshold and reliable vo2max.

What I'm really not sure is what it will give me. I don't train in zones but knowing what my real max heart rate is would certainly allow me to see if I am pushing too hard.

It would certainly be a very interesting experiment and would give me a benchmark as to exactly where I'm at now and if I continue as I am then if I did it again say in 2 years I would see if I've improved or dropped in performance. It's not cheap at £150, be nice to get in on a free study but I haven't been able to find how or where they recruit for any studies.

Interesting Jo.

They would be missing a trick and opportunity not to include Wonder Woman in their free study and research group.

I was saying to a friend I wanted to find my official max heartrate so I can continue my heartrate training. At the moment it is working but I don't know how accurate my zones are without science! X

I actually keep meaning to, annoyingly I'm not allowed to volunteer on Trust Me when they do it because of a conflict of interests but we do have some reps that turn up to work periodically with corporate freebies (I think they hope to hook you in for regular analysis so you can chart improvement, but I'm just interested in finding my base level shhhhhhh) and I'm really intrigued. But I've never yet found the time to actually do it. I think it'd be really interesting though. so I say go for it! Why not.

I wish I could find out how to volunteer in my area... I might just ring them and chat 👍🏻
