Progressing

Well, I managed to get to the 10K distance about 10 days ago and, already, I am starting to look at the next milestone.

While my initial focus is on the two formal 10K runs that i have signed up to in September (Cardiff on 1 September and Swansea on 22 September), I am looking towards the half marathon distance (but planning to take my time getting there - don't intend to try one until sometime in early 2020),

Currently running just over 11K twice or three times a week plus occasional parkruns

Looking forward to continuing to learn and get encouragement from those of you that are here.

Congratulations on completing the 10k milestone. I would recommend having a goal date set by for a run you want to do. It will help you to focus your mind and give you a 'sort-of' training plan in mind. At the moment you have plenty of time so thats not an issue, but in the build up and the longer runs - especially midway through - it is easy to lose moementum and motivation if you don't have a goal to aim for.

I do have a possible HM in mind - the Newport HM on 1 March 2020 - but am open to reviewing that as things develop

Well done! Edge up to your next badge - 10 miles/16k and then you’re only a parkrun away 🤣

10k is still one of my fondest milestones (or should that be kilometre stones!). Increase bit by bit. 15k is the next big one, then 10 miles, then your HM

Mine too Flick. It’s the distance that opens the door to so many possibilities 😃

That, along with c25k week 5 run 3, are my most memorable runs in terms of achievement. The 10.5 mile run last Sunday didn’t give me the same buzz
