I have been busy trying to run in Zone 2 and my word is it a struggle at first and it has been a tough mindset change to focus on zones and not pace! I know it has all been great endurance training and that is what I will need for the Marathon but boy it can be frustrating! Well today I ran in zone 2 for my time, without having to walk! and I was then able to run in zone 3 for an hour! Oh the joy! I was happily plodding along listening to my music, running my route and no buzzing happening on my wrist to say I'm going too fast! 🤣🙈🤣 Flick will understand this now lol! 13k ran this morning in just under 2 hours overall so no speed happening here but it was my favourite run for a long time and I am beginning to feel the benefits of this heartrate training. 42k doesn't seem impossible now. Doing it in the time I'd like might be.... lol so I'm going to aim to finish and if I get near my hopeful time that's a bonus! 😊🏃♀️👍 I love this running thing! 🖤

I’m actually quite enjoying chugging along buzzing. The pressure is to go slower instead of faster for a change - though I do long to stretch my legs a bit. I had 40 minutes in zone 3 yesterday and the bloody thing still buzzed at me. It’s good to know there is light at the end of the tunnel 😂 Meanwhile well done for a non buzzing 13k. I can only dream of such heady heights 🏃♀️ Xx
To add to my last reply: Mic has suggested a run in Oxford. He will drop me off and I’ll run to his mums in Headington. This means running up Morrell Avenue in zone 3/4. Up that long steep hill and past the park, then up the other long steep hill. That’s going to be fun then!
Go slow! I found breathing helped me today, almost like yoga breaths. I do like running to time and not distance and seeing the time become less. I'm hoping that either I get fitter and so therefor faster in zone 3 or my race pace is actually going to be zone 4 maybe..... x
