I shall take Tailwind but I need an easily digested, easy to carry snack as I get low blood sugar running anything over 10k (gels are gross) Preferably something off the shelf as I’m a lazy slob, though I will make something if I absolutely have to. 😔

Any tips for vegan fuel for my HM in October?
A packet of Swizzel's lovehearts
I think love hearts and refreshers have gelatine in x
D'oh! In both 10k events I've done there was a guy wearing a Vegan Runners UK club vest - veganrunners.org.uk/. Maybe you could ask them?
Thanks Mike for the link xxx
Refreshers have gelatine... love hearts are vegan. swizzels.com/nutritional-in...
These guys are good too meatfreeathlete.com/
Oh, thanks. They must have changed them. I looked on the packet a few years ago and they had gelatine
They changed a few. When I lived near the factory and it was Parma violet day, the scent filled the valley... it was torture as I used to love them as a kid but now veggie. Luckily they changed them.
That’s really good. Unfortunately some things have gone the other way. After eights now contain milk products
Really? That’s crazy, they were the original vegan chocolates I think.
Just been reading, in 2015 they weren’t even veggie but are again now... only vegan confectionary from nestle now is polo, and they used to be non veggie 😱
Nakd bars are fantastic! Totally vegan and lots of amazing flavours. You can get them in Sainsbury’s and other outlets. I love them! xxx
I think I’ve had those from Aldi. Good idea xxx
Tailwind has all the sugar you need.
But if you feel you'd like something solid too (I tend to!), what about dried fruit? Apricots are a good size, I find 😊😊😊
I took dates and dried cherries while marathon training , nice pure sugar boost X
I was thinking of dates 😊
The dried sour cherries are absolutely lush too 😋
For me a snack needs to be dry. I don’t want melted, sticky stuff on My hands Thinks back to cow muck last week 🙈
😂
Thanks. Some good tips x
I’m a big fan of Sainsbury’s dried mango. It comes in little 100g bags and is easy to eat 😁.
I love those. thanks for reminding me x
Dried fruit is good. I like gigs but I’m sure any dried fruit would be good fuel.
Thank you 😊
I love nakd snack bars. Cocoa crunch is fab or there are fruitier ones too. I also like Frusili red berry bars.
Both vegan.
Ooh thanks sounds fab
There's another brand called Eat Natural... most are vegan. I'm not completely sold on them yet... bit too much coconut for me.
My total fave for a treat is nature valley nut butters peanut. PB sandwiched in a biscuit. Just right balance of salt and sweet. The cup ones arent vegan though, just the sandwich ones. Dear at 2.89 for 4. I stock up when on 1/2 price
I think dried apricots and mangos might be nice or even some grapes if you can stop them turning into juice...
You have to watch for sulphur with dried fruit - can give you the trots. Dried mango is divine though 😊
Thanks Floss. Did you read the whole article? It was interesting about running generally x
Definitely a vote for the dried fruit - and for a quick buzz, Kendal mint cake!
Arbonne do vegan protein bars, a new lemon one has just come out which I love. Their Phytosport range is also excellent and vegan. I was told by a PT it’s 2.1.2???!! Which I believe is good, so much new language in this running world! 😂🤪
Thanks, sounds lovely, will look it up x
Hi
loving your progress. I've not tried these for running, but I'm planning to. Just bought them in a local bargain shop (£1 for 6) and had one this morning. It was canny
Called Wild Thing - lots of diff flavours and 'bio vegan'? not sure what the bio is? but organic, vegan and gluten free. 131 kcal per bar.
Thank you ❤️ Another one to look up! I just wish they wouldn’t lump vegan and gluten free together. I want my full gluten! But actually they often put that on things that wouldn’t have gluten anyway 😊
