I hope to go down my local track on Saturday (to watch a meeting with serious runners ;).
I have an extra surprise race on Sunday ... my running club convinced me to try to get back on the track... I might give it a go ... they need somebody to jump - high and long - and to throw... not sure what I'll do
Thanks Roseabi. It will be very hot so I need to figure out how to keep hydrated and not get sunstroke. There will also be a race of 30 Elite runners (3 women) - I can't wait to see them in action.
I think they mention a channel on their website. It’ll be on you tube anyway. I’ll be the one with the white legs and red face amongst all the cool looking frenchies. 🥵

Thanks for the shout out Abi! I'm bricking it as everyone keeps telling me how tough the Heathfield 10k is and the only time I've ever run 10k non stop was on a solo flattish training run! Apparently it's very hilly all the way round culminating in a big climb at the end 😱 On the plus side the weather's going to be lovely so I've decided the longer I'm out there the better my tan 😂
Hi pianoteacher, I think you are now a really experienced runner so you'll sort it out just fine. Think of all that running you have done over the last year or so and then link it together! Listen to me, ridiculous! Really recently I thought I wasn't going to run anymore and here I am pretending to suggest ideas to a club runner! Have fun and enjoy it. If you have never completed that one before, you'll receive a PB for the course for certain! 🏃🏻♀️😊

Good luck everyone! I’m really struggling with which HM to choose... Birmingham HM looks good.. seems cheap for such a major run...Oxford looks good, Bournemouth looks good but it’s a tad expensive...looks gorgeous down there though. I really like the two tunnels in Bath but I don’t think it’s enough time! And there are some local ones, ARGHHH decisions! 😫🤪
The only one of those I've done is Oxford, but I can recommend it! It's pretty much flat, has a great crowd most of the way round, and some lovely scenery. It does have a lot of out-and-back sections, where you see runners coming back the other way - some people dislike them. Personally I think they're fine, and I really like the turning points because it always makes me feel as though I'm getting somewhere 😊
Good to know, although the Oxford one I’m talking about is a trail one, maverick original series...It’s actually the day before the Oxford half marathon. I missed the ballot for the Oxford HM, I might give that a go next year, it does look good.
