I don't enjoy running around my local area for long runs so am thinking of going out somewhere. The only drawback is that I need to carry a change of top, deodorant, drink, food, money obviously as there will be no where to stash my bag.

Does anyone go out somewhere else to run?
I sometimes get a bus out to somewhere nice and then run home, or occasionally get a bus out, go for a run and then get a bus back, but I don't usually take much with meβjust water, fuel if it's over 15k and a bit of emergency cash. If you do something like that I'd say forgo change of clothes, deodorant etcβtake what you actually genuinely need, and everyone else can just deal with you sweaty. No one even bats an eyelid when I flop onto a bus post-run, all pink and gross π
I guess you don't mean by car? I'm lucky I can just leave all I need stashed in my van - I love to drive out to pastures new π Now Sqkr has me thinking of buses...mmm, I never get the bus! But maybe I should give it a try! Food for thought...
I use a running backpack. I did a long run/walk last year (ran off in one direction away from home) and then got bus + underground home. Running backpacks are tiny, have a hydration bladder and you don't notice you have them on. I have this one - youtu.be/p4aqzZFz1vY
You could bus out and run home..... would need to carry less.
The only time I have ever run from home is when there's too much ice and snow to get the vehicle out.
I am mostly a 'stealth' runner in that I usually leave the house looking like anyone else. Once at my desired start point, my top layer comes off, the running shoes go on and off I go. Mainly I run with my full normal backpack - I'm even a little twitchy about taking out my emergency book, I mean, what if I'm injured in the woods and have nothing to read whilst I'm waiting to be rescued?
Anniemurph does a good line in bus out, run back... and I've been known to leave my car and run home and get a lift to pick it up later.
When I get back to the car, everything goes back on again... although that can be a bit iffy if I've had a lovely calf deep in bog session...
I sometimes get the bus back from Shoreham to avoid a gruesomely dull and busy road π
Could you stretch to buying a vest... hydration and with pockets... you can stash a top.. water and snacks etc.. there are a lot out there.. you then just wear it... If you are going to do lots of HMs and Marathons it could be worth it?
There are budget ones and pricier...

Yes, but it depends on the fastenings are they extendable as I need to be able to fasten it over my ample chest! Don't want to fork out a fortune if I can't do that.
