"Spring" running training!!

As I sit here at 3:30PM thinking about my early morning run tomorrow, it is 28C. Sun rises around 4:30 AM tomorrow and expected conditions will be 17C at 85% RH at sunrise . Will rise to around 25C by 8:30 and UV will be in the range of 12 ( Extreme) so protection is recommended from 7:30 onwards. So doesn't leave a lot of time for longer runs - just as well I am an early riser and can cope with 4:30 AM starts. Have no idea how I am going to do HM length longruns in January and February - Summer!!!! Am planning a HM in a more moderate oceanside town in March - but wont be able to train there!! :( This one vimeo.com/259533426

You're in Australia? What about indoor tracks? We have the opposite problem here in Finland, up to minus 30 degrees in winter, so consequently there are indoor sports venues with running tracks etc. You could be a bit cheeky and super slow jog around big shopping malls/underground car parks in the summer?

No - nothing suitable . :( Plenty of Gyms - but nothing suitable for long distance running :) I'm not sure what is worse - your very cold conditions or our very hot conditions. We can die from either!! :( BTW - underground car parks are stifling during summer - far worse than outside . Very early morning running is the only answer I can see.

I will be starting on my Marathon quest soon - but no way at 0430! I usually wake at 5 - but need at least an hour before I feel like a human and not a forest mushroom.

Fair dues Barry - you got grit! ☺

Tricky! I have only once got up (not started running, mind!) at 4.30 for a run - the hat's off to you!!

Yikes! Such polar opposite problems we have 😆. I'm not sure which is worse, I think the heat likely given I can put more layers on but you can only take so many off. Good luck and stay safe.

I remeber getting up at 4:30 am last December desperate to keep to my training plan. It was then I realised I was a bit obsessed. Cold and dark here then.

I Don't envy you the heat, but the daylight makes for better running.
