A quick one to remind you that the Speed Challenge starts today!!!!
The spreadsheet is now live, and can be accessed via the link below. It looks a bit boring at the moment, but you CAN see the list of Challengers there - please tell me if there are any errors. A couple of folk have not given me their distances and base times yet, so let me know in the comments below, thank youuuuuuu π Also, anyone else who would like to join is most welcome!
I am doing okay...a bit up and down run wise..I have kept my rest day exercising going and added some extra stamina strategies in too...but I am getting there..you are doing really well..π Thank you x
Sage advice, I can ask how to get my sage and onion stuffing cooked just right? I always find its burnt on top and great underneath or done just right on top but too soggy underneath. Where I am going wrong oh wise one.
I have been confused with my present starting point.
Sorry Abi do not wish to be tiresome with extra work for you.
I will do my new loop from the door but because it finishes with a hill and is only 4.8k, I am going to take out the hill and finish somewhere along the Trearddur Bay promenade/beach.Hopefully at one end.
I would then request you to take that as my starting pace for week one, particulary if it is less than the present.
Thanks Abi, and Atb to all taking part.π₯πββοΈπββοΈπ₯π₯βοΈ
Basically the same two routes of the 20/09/18,and my route first suggested 21/09/18, but finishing on the beach and excluding the hill.
Can not give you a recorded time. But the 5k times were 46.69 and 49.16respectively.
Having looked back at the 20thSept and 21st Sept to spell it out for you I am suggesting I start at 46.69 for the same route but finishing on the promenade at 5k.
Sorry for this and do not worry if you wish to leave it. I can just keep on running when I get up the hill until I hit the 5k.
Hey Roseabi, I'm one of the naughties who hasn't put in a distance or baseline yet! π³
Thanks for your patience, you def are a saint π
I'm going to make this challenge 5K, with the hope of encouraging me to do Parkrun more often. Also, because after C25K I've only reached sub-30 once and settled in at the wrong side of 30.
So, I'm setting the distance at 5K and pace at 30:34 being my official local PR time.
(Albeit I was doing intervals within the PR, so it's still a bit of a challenge). π
Hi Abi, sorry for the PMs. I did not see the new post here until it was too late. Just ignore them. π Ok, so to simplify : my starting time for 17k was 1:39 at a 5:51 pace and my Saturday run was 1:38 at 5:47, across 17k, so, just a tiny improvement.
thanks for putting the spreadsheet together Sorry I have been busy at work in the last couple of weeks. Here are my speed goals for October:
Goal 1: distance 3,380 mt. current PB 12:26.
Relay race on the 6th of October with the running club. the distance is 3,380 mt. (we are 4 and each runs that strange distance...). My current PR is 12:26. I have one shot at it and I will try all I got to get to 12:00 or below (But I'll take a 12:09 if it comes....)
Goal 2: 5 Km park run @ Queen's fields, current PB 19:43
I have not run a park run since 2016 and I'd like to try again, but I am not sure I will manage to find the time and the opportunity... if I can I would like to try the same course and beat my current 19:43 PB (aiming for a sub 19??? maybe too ambitious...)
