Hello everybody and welcome to Monday.... its a new day, and an opportunity to get up, shake off the cobwebs and do some serious STUFF.
I went for a lovely run round the lanes this morning, and got home for some freshly made sourdough toast and a flaggon of green tea bofore the usual pre worky abolutions. This pic is of a quote that Rob the Spinning instructor shouts at us ( amongst many others, I think he watches alot of Rocky or something). I really like it and this pic looks like my son so thats cool too!
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
Have a great week, and enjoy your runs

My marathon *is* my (younger) son it seems (and we are about to do another 15 rounds with the local authority so there's Rocky too...) but I enjoyed that quote this morning.
I was just carrying on with the Plan this past week - looking forward to some longer runs from this week onward, and a chance finally to try out my new shoes on the trails! I had a very HOT run yesterday, it didn't kill me but I did find myself struggling to stay awake after lunch... I didn't get much windsurfing done last week because the wind disappeared - I think it's back this week though! In other cross-training news I went to a barn dance on Saturday night, that was an extremely good workout!
Got my 5:30 am fun run this week, looking forward to that 😎
Well done on being up and at em early doors Ju Ju 😃
I had a lie-in after a sleepless night, being kept awake by loud snoring 😩. I got up and made a pot of tea, tried to read etc 🙄.
Running in a moment though 💪👍Heading for the trail 🏃♀️
Not much happening run wise til this Thursday when it’s game on. My third and final race in the Triple Hill Challenge. It’s usually an airless, scorchio affair with lots of swearing as folks puff and pant their way around 10k course, up to the front door of Hardwick Hall (“more glass than wall”) and back to the start. The village hosts the event and there’s a party atmos about the place. Memento awarded to the challenge finishers. Hopefully me 😁
Not sure why Eminem is praying in that picture, but I heard he replaced drug addition with running addiction so maybe hes hiding under a pseudonym on this forum - maybe roseabi 's July challenge will out him.
Anyway I have spent a lovely week, post 10k doing minimal running - just the one 2mile sprint, but a nice lazy weekend. However, this week is the start of my new plan to take me up to the Rother Vally 10k on 16th September. Please add to the events list when you get a chance: rothervalley10k.co.uk/
If you ever get 50 mins to spare and you wish to see some of the Berghaus Dragon’s Back, ultra marathon,🤔
It was shown on 15/07/18 on S4C, it’s called Ar Gefn y Ddraig.Unfortunately it is in Welsh but you might be lucky and get the sub- titles.🤔It is available on iplayer for 29 days.
I’ve just been running the HM asics plan. Right now it is 5ks, 7ks and weekend long runs, though this sat I missed my longer group run due to a leaking water heater and a wet basement, but I still got out for 11k on my own. (The water heater was sorted too) Its been baking hot here in the 30s. So I’ve been running early. Went out at 5:30 yesterday. Also been very stressed with some work projects but the running helps with that too.
On holiday in Central Finland for a couple of weeks so my training routes will be along stoney dusty roads chased my swarms of hungry mosquitoes! Stoopid hot here all week 30+ deg C. One great aspect is I can run straight into the lake for a cooldowm float/swim afterwards.
