I wound up running on my own this morn for a quick 5k on the plan. 10 degrees but a bit chilly! Had to wear my fingerless pro gloves. :).

I ran today, after everything else I'd got to do. Lovely jog and I saw a heron on the river. Sigh

Yes I saw more runners than usual today - maybe for run day or the nice run temps this morn. Herons really are beautiful creatures. We have a lone one that circles the neighborhood ever once in a while.

The river, where I clocked it, passed by the local tannery and skin company, then past the massive engineering works, so you can image 🙄. Now only the tannery remains and the river has come back to life. Grayling, that we’re once common, were re-introduced. The river now passes through a housing estate which was built on the site of the former works, which is where I spotted it. There are two foot bridges where people fish 🎣. I wonder who catches most, man or heron 😃

I would guess Heron, hands down! 😁 We have some decent remaining green space here, but the politicians keep threatening to sell it off to land developers.
