This is the post Iβve been praying Iβd write!!
I only went and did it!! I completed my first half marathon in a better time than I had dreamed! 2:11:48!! This included a loo stop!!
Couldnβt have done it without my run buddy (does ultraβs every few weeks!! Heβs a machine and part of my running club Brendan)
He watched my pace, pulled me back when I got carried away by the crowds and enabled me to just RUN!! I took no notice of my watch or the miles ahead! I just ran!!
I worried about fuelling but took a gel at mile 6 then 10! Managed to do it whilst running!! Something I struggled with in training!
Sips of water all the way!
It was way easier/better than my training runs to 11 miles and I loved it! Only struggled the last 500 yds or so, the finish was up hill! But my buddy took my arm pulled me along then propelled me to the finish!! Where I proceeded to have some kind of panic attack! Thought I was dying and couldnβt breath!! Quickly sorted by my run buddy who told me to calm down and breath slowly!! Apparently my eye were wide with fear!! Then I cried a lot!!
Thanks to you all for your advice and support!
Iβm so bloody happy!! πββοΈπͺπ»π π₯ almost forgot I raised Β£1140 for cancer research uk! π

I fully understand how you felt, running all the way, just hitting it. In the end I felt like high-fiving innocent strangers and telling them all about myself (never a good idea in London).
Wonderful - and a great time too! Funny how tough the end of a race can suddenly feel when our mind knows it is almost over! Well done on raising so much for a great charity too! π
Yessssssss!!!! See? You COULD do it...and you did!!! Absolutely fantastic, I am so pleased for you...that is one massive achievement, sounds like you did it in style too, very well done xxx
Wow well done Lisa! Sounds like a fantastic day all round. That is a super time too! It is really great when it all comes together like that. Great memories.
Fantastic effort! That's a great time too. What a bonus to have a mate to run with too, they certainly help to kick those gremlins out of the mind and the time flies by when you're being distracted from the job at hand! Well done!
Wow, great achievement! Well done for such a fantastic time too! And your run buddy may have been a wonderful inspiration and help, but you were the one who did it
