My London Marathon place is courtesy of the London Playing Fields Foundation (lpff.org.uk/) who were asking me to raise a minimum of £1000 - very modest as these things go. I've increased the target to £2012 (it's a London2012 thing) and in just over 1 week, I've raised £1500 (excl Gift Aid).

They do amazing work in London to maintain 7 playing fields, protect them from the likes of developers and encourage disadvantaged groups to use them. You can read more here: lpff.org.uk/About/What-We-Do

I know I'm not a regular poster here but I thought I'd share this with you anyway.

My fund-raising page is here:

uk.virginmoneygiving.com/VO... - have a read! You might enjoy it.

And it's always nice to have celebrity endorsement ;-) Dara O'Briain (yes!) tweeted about it yesterday :

and if you want to know how/why that happened, then have a read of this :-)

thanks Abi - I was chuffed to get the mention from Dara O'Briain last week :-)

I see on Strava you're getting the miles in. At one stage we were both on 39.8km for the week. Yours is a good pace too :-)

That is very cool indeed.

Huh, mine is a slow pace! But thanks :) I'm in a bit of a weird position because I'm doing a 100k at the end of May, so I've only just started my training plan, whereas last year I was doing the Brighton Marathon and had already been training for almost 3 months by this time. And this year I am doing Brighton again, and London a week later! I got a ballot place :) (Sorry I probably already told you all that..) So I have to think of the marathons as training runs for the ultra and keep plodding on. I'm really really looking forward to all of it though!

I found you on Strava too, looks like your training is going as well as your fundraising - good luck and have fun!
