One plan ended and about to embark on another race plan. Got three races lined up, or four in fact ๐ so need a plan to keep me organised and stop me over-running.
I had my longest run on Saturday, 32km (I keep calling it a 20-miler, but in fact I'm metric, and the route is a little under 20 miles heh). It went really well, I am extremely pleased and quite optimistic for Brighton! One thing, I've been stressing about the weather, and it was pretty windy on Saturday, a brisk westerly, and I started off with misgivings. The last 4km of the run were pretty hard going, dead against the wind BUT I also got to run 13km along the sea front, from Southwick Power Station to Rottingdean, WITH the wind, which was great! So now I'm thinking that a bit of wind wouldn't be so bad, to help us along the last 10k of the marathon. As long as it's westerly anyway...
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind! Or not. Anyway, hope everyone's training is going well too!
Thank you!! I must have run every inch* of the course in bits, except for the part where we go up to Ovingdean on the road (I always go along the Undercliff Walk). I'm saving that up for a "special treat"
I am still trying training for the paddock wood half on the 2nd March, which i am trying to go for my sub 2hr! i think maybe i am building it up a bit to much and should just go with the flow!
After that i haven't decided what to do, Beachy Head marathon keeps pulling my heart strings! do it do it, then my brain reminds me how mental it is to even do a marathon especially something hilly and steep and beautifully wonderful like Beachy head marathon.
so your training really hard for Brighton and then your going to let all that go to waste and not do any more? Sounds like you want to do the Marathon really.
I will do it again sometime, it's the best! However, London next year (if I can get in), and thoughts of an ultra in 2019 Plus triathlon in between of course!
10k trail race Thoresby Hall in April with Murphybabe ๐
10k super hilly race in May, the Holymoorside 10k, which nearly broke my leg a few years ago ๐ฎ๐ฑ.
Cardiac Hill race the following Sunday. this is a mile race which culminates in a near-vertical climb ๐ I came second in it last year. Had I known this I would have worked harder ๐๐ It was hilarious!
BRampton Brewery Spire 10 mile in early July. This has been red hot the last twice.
Another one not open yet' I don't think, is a mid week evening 10k race up to the front door of Hardwick Hall. This was a grueller last year as it was so hot with not a breath of air. Great party atmosphere for this. The locals were heroic ๐
Not entered my local half marathon yet which is in October I think. It's literally down the road which is fab as I can mosey there and back ๐
I've been in Disneyland Paris with my youngest since Sunday. I managed a 6K interval run this morning. I'm really pleased, as this is the first time I've ever managed to run while visiting. I also did a strength training session yesterday. Friday will be another interval run - at home - and my usual long run on Sunday.
