Introducing myself.

Hello everyone, sorry for the long post.

I am Sivaram, aged 26 from Bangalore, India. Sorry that I never knew this forum existed until I was reading ju-ju's post today in c25k. I have enrolled for my first half this October. I have only graduated from c25k this July as a part of my new year resolution, so I am very happy for the progress I have made. Lost 14kgs from 84 and only 3kgs away from my exact ideal weight. Should be there in a month.

I am following a Nike Free plan which have a weekly mileage of approx 35 miles. Long runs begin at 8 and peak at 14.

This morning I was doing a Fartlek of 6 miles and without my knowledge I ran my fastest 10k of 1:00:49. My fastest 5k is 28.40.

Goal for the half is

1. Train and race injury free

2. Finish upright with a smile.

3. Shoot for 2.15 if everything seems right.

Hoping to get lots of advice and motivation from you veterans. And thanks ju-ju- for letting me know about the forum.

Happy running everyone.

Wow you are doing brilliantly and your times are great too.... My best advice is to continue as you are doing and that will hold you in excellent stead for your half..... Keep us updated on progress.....

Welcome! You are doing a brilliant job already, your plan sounds great. Your goals are spot on and you may surprise yourself with your time - I have done a few half marathons, and always gone a little faster than my predicted times.

I was initially thinking of a sub 2 hour finish, but this being my first race ever I dint want to beat myself up. There is a lifetime of running left :)
