๐ so this week I am the proud owner of a pair of glasses... Verifocals to be precise. So I have gone from none to wearing them all the time which I'm still adjusting to...
๐ my trail has completely changed which I love. It's now so green and beautiful... I have been on a running streak and in 8 days covered 40 miles. It really helps to do v short distances slowly on rest days and I'm feeling great on it.
โญ๏ธ I have managed to persuade work to get balls to sit on. I did some reading about it and they really help your core and you burn an extra 60 calories an hour!!! Here I am having a bit of a laugh at my desk. I'm lucky to work with some fab folk and everyone loved having a try ( we have 3 different sizes).
๐ณ I love seeing all the plants growing and I have always loved our artichokes in the front garden. They look so pretty and the birds love the dead ones as they make their nests with the fluff ( we have more of a nature garden than a coiffured one!!!)
I'm also working on doing push ups. I'm up to 35 a day now, still on blended knee but I know it won't be long before I get all the way down!!!!
Anyone else tried some inventive solutions at work to exercise etc? I'd love to hear them...
Happy Panthering

Lovely specs, they really suit you.; it's not often we see anybody out of running kit sitting on balls - no wonder you're laughing๐
We tried the gym balls, introduced by a man called Mr Motivator who also came in weekly and put us through swivel office chair exercises which was an excellent ice breaker and distressor for those that were game ....unfortunately there were never enough balls to go around..hence the alternate chair exercises.(NHS were piloting staff health promotion within the then PCTs).
And your lovely artichokes remind me of backpacking, working on a kibbutz and eating the hearts and parts for breakfasts at 4.30am - ooh 33 yrs ago! Very architectural, do they mature enough to eat.. yummy.
Well done on your running streak, you've reached your 40miles a week and your goal of core exercises more enjoyable with the lush countryside.
Thankyou, and I love your gym ball story and also the artichoke one... 4.30 that's a very early brekkie!!!?
ha ha my boss is an office chair potato with an upside down smile there's no way we're going to get a ball to balance on any time soon. Do you think it will become a habit and you'll all keep it up.
Love your photographic week!I just got varifocals about a month ago don't wear them all the time but am supposed to be getting used to them few hrs a day!must be our age!loving the office ball chairs!and 40 miles? Brilliant stuff!busy old week!your trail and garden very pretty๐
Very stylish specs there, Sweetie, they really suit you. I've worn varis for about 5 years and can't imagine life without them now. However, they took my a while to get used to, and I hate running in them -I find it quite disorientating- so I have distance prescription glasses and sunnies especially for running -extravagant I know but worth every penny. x
Thankyou... And since running without them everything is blurred, and I realise now had bad it was. I'm going to have to get prescription sunnies I think ......
Sounds like you have great fun at the Epsom salts Council and they buy you big balls to sit on, but if your bouncing up and down is t hard to move the mouse and type?
I have worn glasses for as long as I can remmeber. I also don't really like running with them, they slide done your nose, get all hot and sweaty, fog up and you can see anything when it rains. So on run days I always use contacts. All the problems disappear and I can see where I am going and I can wear normal running sunglasses that don't slide down my nose.
Good plan and I think im going to have to get prescription sunnies as I can't drive without the glasses and I hate glary sun!!! I always wear sunglasses running too due to hay fever issues!!!!
I have some specs like those Ju! Mine are readers mind you, but they look rather good don't they. Make us look bookish!
Good idea about the balls! My husband bought one of those but I can't recall him ever getting as far as blowing the darned thing up. Maybe it was too exhausting for him. LOL
The trails are green, as green can be! Loving all the lush new growth on the trees. Great to be out int it. I was running on hard cow-stamped mud yesterday with a bit of bog thrown in just to confuse me. Where to put one's feet!
Those artichokes are great aren't they. Mine topple over with the weight of the fruits and have to be replanted. I never eat them! I quite like the hearts but what a faff.
Looking very distinguished with the new glasses JJ. Had mine for a few years now and they make a world of difference. Lovely to see all the greenery again and nice to be mud free!
