This is a pic of some of the last finishers in the Bath HM. We had all just spent three hours pounding the streets of Bath, Many people complete a full marathon in that time. But we didn't feel like failures. We ran for 13 miles! GO US!
Don't dismiss the 'also-rans' - Fun Beyond 10K & ...
Don't dismiss the 'also-rans'
TT you look amazing and I would never call you an 'also ran'. You're a runner who can, and has, run 13miles - an awesome achievement by anyone's standards! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ xx
totally Go You! you ran 13 miles - a long way by anyone's reckoning. A lot of people wouldn't think of walking 13 miles let alone running it! well done!
You're not an also ran - you're an inspiration!!
That's a fair chunk more than I've ever ran and I consider myself to have a reasonable level of fitness (at a fair chunk younger than you!)
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm in awe! I dream of being at your level of fitness in 30 years time!
Fab photo ☺
You're a complete inspiration TT, and you look fantastic! xx
Go You TT ... Everyone who get to the start line is a hero...
That is a fabulous picture... GO YOU that is a fantastic achievement.Looking great there... how is your chest now? better I hope??
I am still coughing but feeling better thanks JJ. I did a gentle 6k yesterday and then a Pilates lesson today. I have anothet HM in 6 weeks time so can't rest on my laurels!
Well done TT! You're a star! It does take some flippin doing doesn't it. Very tiring indeed. Well, I thought so. Mind you after all the training the race comes as something of a relief.
My legs had no bones by Mile 13 misswobble. Mind you, after the anxiety and sleeplessness and nausea of the previous 24 hours I also found the race itself a relief. It's the pre-race nerves I find hardest of all to cope with. I can imagine the state I'll be in pre Berlin (IF I do it) all too well. It turns out my Pilates teacher is also a hypnotherapist. I wonder if he can help with nerves? I will ask him next week
I think maybe it could be the logistics of getting there and organising your stuff. I only run locally for that reason. I hate travelling, being the world's worst, and like packing even less. Travel light and stay near home so it's easier to get there. Much less hassle ensues. I am a lazy bones I expect
You could always just tell yourself off. I do that. "Shape yourself!", I say to myself in the voice my mother always used. That usually works.
My mother would have said 'What on EARTH do you think you're doing?' so probably best not to conjure her up pre-race!
Fab picture TT and definately no also-ran! You are a complete inspiration and look so focused in that photo! Well done again😀!
You look great TT!!! , run proud you are brilliant! 😆
Hey dont measure your self about how fast other people run. everyone who finishes a 5k, 10k, half or marathon are winners in my book, your did a better job of all the people who sit on there sofas not moving with tv dinners watching ant and dec's takeway and so there is no way you should feel like a failure.
the race should be more important then your pace!
Well done TT. Great pic.
Time is irrelevant, the achievement is the same if not more.
Xx
Looking great! Your amazing achievement will stay with you forever!
You look amazing ! Doesn't matter if it's a 5 minute mile or a 10 minute mile , you did 13 miles , and how many people can say they've done that ?
Well done TT ! xxx
Thank you all so much! It was only the support from you guys on Health Unlocked (and the Ironson of course) that convinced me I could do it! otherwise the doubters and tut-tutters might have won. And that would never do would it? I love you all xxx
How did I miss this? You look fantastic, I'm so proud of you! Great stuff TT, I wouldn't call you an also-ran, I reckon I would do about that time, if I could do it at all...you're a star xxxx
