My first run for weeks and despite training indoors due to the lockdown on a variety of machines, rower, bike and elliptical and regular stretching and core work I find myself walking like a cheap windup robot and struggling with the dreaded "stairs". What's best for muscle soreness? going to try a fast walk and hope that shakes things lose so to speak!

Some torturous foam rolling (I imagine a swim isn't an option right now)?

Epsom salts bath I was going to say. No bath! 😱Faints clean away 😳
Having my post run soak with a hot drink is the thing I really look forward to. Followed by food. 🙂
Lay off a bit if you’re hurting too much. Reduce the volume. I don’t foam roll unless I really have to. Not a fan 🙂. If you bash your aching limbs about I’m not sure it helps 🤷♀️
Gentle stretching sounds preferable. Yoga is fab and is easy done at home. Loads on YouTube 🙂.
No Epsom Salts, but have taken 3 days off the running and supplemented with working in a hot and humid polytunnel. So stretching, reaching and light lifting in a very warm environment seems to have done the trick. Back to running on the morrow.
I might treat myself to a poly tunnel if I ever give up my plot. 🤔
Working in the garden really gives a good workout. I think some tasks are really hard 😤. I have a massive galvo watering can. When it’s full I can barely lift it 😁
Galvo watering can = core training .
