swollen corneas?

Last time I was at my retinal specialist, she said my wet MD was stable and I didn't need any more shots. Huh? I've been getting them for years, and my vision is pretty stable, blurried right eye, but not too severe. Glasses help this.

Then she said I did have "swollen corneas." Of course, I was pretty surprised and didn't even ask her what that meant and what the treatment might be. She left the room (sort of an assembly-line of patients, I feel) and didn't say anything more.

I'm usually pretty assertive, but this time I wasn't. I guess I feel vulnerable, with my eye exposed, medication put on, numbing, etc. Then no shot. Didn't I need them to maintain the stability?

You can bet that my next appointment (in about one month) I will take a list and find out the answers to these questions.

Meanwhile, does anyone have experience and/or advice on swollen corneas?

different clinics do the sequence differently. I have eye test/pressure test then scan, then doctor looks at scans and confirms whether I need injection or not and how long the interval until next injection . I make next appointment before I leave. My brother has tests, scan, then injection and has to wait to get next appointment through post after a doctor has looked at scan so hard for him to plan ahead!

I have both eyes injected and my right eye is now dry so when I have scan tomorrow and injection for left eye I may be told I don’t need injection for right eye. It dried before and was not injected for 7 months before returning. If you don’t have injections it’s important you have an Amsler chart to check if there’s any more waviness in your vision.

Thank you so much for replying, Catseyes235. I'm in the US, but our procedures are very similar. The specialists have not been very clear lately, as in my post. My next appointment is June 11, and I will be more assertive then in my questions. I didn't realize that the eye can be dry and need no injections for quite some time. I do have an Amsler chart and check both eyes regularly, so the next appointment should be quite enlightening. I'm grateful not to need shots at all for a while.... although I do wonder about the "swollen corneas." Thanks again for your post.
