Cloudy Vision after IVOM / Injection

Good day,

On Friday, I had my 3rd Vabysmo injection in both my left and right eyes. I'm 28 years old and have been a diabetic for 23 years. My prescription for both eyes is -0.75. During my last appointment four weeks ago, my left eye had 100% vision, while my right eye had 90%.

After the procedure on Friday, I immediately noticed that something was different. Normally, after such procedures, I would see streaks or a greasy film for a few hours. However, this time, I experienced extreme blurriness in my left eye. In the afternoon, I contacted the clinic, and they informed me that these symptoms are unusual but should improve within 24 hours. Yesterday, I visited two clinics, and both stated that there was nothing abnormal in my eye. I can see clearly up to about 7 cm in front of my eye, but beyond that, it's like looking through frosted glass. My right eye is fine, but simultaneous vision with both eyes is very strenuous.

Do you have any idea what could have occurred during the procedure? Could the medication have settled somewhere and be causing the blurry vision now?

My intraocular pressure has typically been 16 in both eyes. However, yesterday in the clinic, it was 10 in the left eye and 16 in the right eye.

Best regards,

Edward

hi there so sorry to hear this. I have had 3 injections also of Vabysmo I wonder what could be causing the blurriness. It’s just in the injected eye? I have my 4 on Friday. I could ask around for you as I have a few friends now who have worked with Vabysmo.

Your pressures are fine I had lots of air bubbles in my eye for up to 11 days after my first injection so I had many many floaters. See how it goes for the next few days and I will also ask around for you too.

Thank you for your efforts!

During every appointment, I receive injections in both eyes. The blurry vision issue is now only present in my left eye. Today, I visited my doctor. Unfortunately, they couldn't find anything except that the diopter in my left eye has increased from -0.75 to -3. Unbelievable!

I've now been given cortisone drops in the hope that it's just the lens that's swollen.

We'll see what happens next.

Hi eddys95. It is only a couple of days since the injections and it may yet settle. When you say you've visited two clinics, do you mean injection clinics? If so, I would try your optician and explain what has happened and that you're worried about it and ask if they could have a look. They may possibly do an OCT scan. I understand your worry and hope you get this sorted.

Not what you're looking for?
