Greetings everyone. (May we all gets our diseases cured by the ALMIGHTY. Ameen)
I was diagnosed that there's a Central swelling in my right eye in August,2019. I was seeing flashes and curves and blur. I went to see a doctor, he said you need injections for your eye. I was scared of getting injections in my eye, but still i went there after a week to take it. Few days later, I started feeling little improvement, and i skipped the second injection as advised.
Now in 2022, i regret i should've gone for the second and third injections, because now the retina swelling has shown in my left eye's corner. (Not the central), doctor has again advised me for injections in both eyes, as swelling is little high and some fluids are leaking also.
I've started the treatment by taking two injections in both eyes. Tho, it'll take time to show results, but if doesn't heal up the swelling completely, my doctor has told me that he will go for photodynamic therapy to reduce swelling.
The reason for my condition diagnosed by three doctors, that it is because of stress and stressful life.
If anyone of you is facing and doing the treatment for the same, do comment so we both can share our experiences..
Thanks.

I have macular oedema and have been having injections for about 4 years.
Next week I am having a cataract op for my right eye and at the same time a steroid injection in the orbit to help reduce the swelling. I have had Lucentis injections and Eylea injections and also laser treatment. I hope the steroid injection will help. My consultant said my eyes were stable but she would like to see an improvement. Fingers crossed.
I am a type 2 diabetic and have been in remission for the last 5 years, I got into remission by 6 months after my diagnosis. I am 69 and on long term steroids for Polymyalgia rheumatica
I have dry eyes and cataracts. My eyes are stable on the Eylea injections but my consultant wants to see an improvement and so offered steroid injection and cataract operation. So it will be interest to see how a new lens in my eye helps my vision. No medicines just injections
Doctor said cause of my swelling is stress, and he started treatment with injections in my eyes. Tho, i feel 0.001 improvement (or maybe just feeling), after one month he'll examine again and check the results.
I also have retina edema stress induced my left eye. I was 54 when it happened. Two plus years of eyleya shots to keep swelling down. It's difficult to believe in this age there is no cure. I love and trust my Dr she tries a different steroid option and this past month a new shot maybe will last 3 months. Floaters from this (I'll find out name) are frequent but so far it's ok. It's been 5 weeks since last injection. I'm also in NJ.
No diabetes. Yes about 5 days after shot good vision, not perfect. I was tempted to just stop and go blurry due to the anxiety of the shot and cost each month. But without it I get headaches and can't read due to wavy lines. Maybe research a few Dr's and find one you are comfortable with. Retina specialist.
Hmm.. Did your swelling and leakage is reduced now after injections? I've seen some patients who got their retinal swelling reduced, but still facing blurry vision. And one more question to you, do you have central vision problem?
Yes central vision issue. The swelling is reduced but only lasts 4 weeks most months. Sometimes I can push 6 /7 weeks. But when I go back after a long span the swelling is pretty bad. We tested an 8 week span to see how I did but that was last visit. The Dr tried the new treatment to see if it works to keep me from going every month for a shot. I don't see blurry when it wears off .... the lines on a page are warped if that makes sense. From what she told me now the cataract will come sooner then normal.
Because i believe diagnose is important, some patients have different retina problems which can solved with injections and laser therapy, some are having different problems with different treatment available to slow it down or stop spreading.
I've seen many on different platforms who replied that their vision is either stable now, or got better. But let's not lose hope, GOD help us all!
