Retinal Bleed

My daughter had a retinal bleed 3 weeks ago. She has myopic degeneration in both eyes. Her central vision is gone in effected eye. She is seeing a black spot in that area. Treated with Avastin 3 days post incident and is due another shot in November.

She had a previous bleed in 2018. However I suspect this bleed is much more extensive. I am looking for similar experiences. Can she gain her vision back in her eye? She is only 22 years old with a small child, studying to become a midwife. She has her whole life ahead of her. I am absolutely heart broken and worrying about her constantly

Hi Faith, I was diagnosed with CSR when I was 35 back in 2016 and had a dark spot in my right eye that made it hard to see in low lighting areas and reading a book and fine print with the distortion as well. My eye doctor had me on Avastin for about a year then they switched me to eyelea and that's when I started seeing an improvement. After a year or so of being on eyelea I'd say my vision went from 75% to 95% and stayed like that up until this year when I noticed the loss of vision as well as distortion again. The doctor said the bleeding had started again and that I'll always be susceptible to it with the damage that's been done. That being said tho, my vision has returned again to 95% only with a few treatments of eyelea. I hope this helps, I was feeling pretty down and out when I was first diagnosed but my eye has come a long way since then. All the best to you and your daughter

Hi I have a similar genetic disorder. This is what I have always been told. If I have a hemorrhage. Get to the dr or hospital as soon as possible to stop the bleeding. So she needs to see her retinanologist. I had originally had Avastin. I broke through that medicine and continued to have hemorrhages. So I now get Eyelea injections every 6 weeks. from the bleeds I had there is scarring. It is those scars I now can't see through. That is what happens after the bleeding stops. This has been my experience. I hope they can bring that sight back some.
