HAPPY NEW YEAR to you All, I hope it brings us luck.
Question for anyone who has received Eylea injections, I have had three loading doses and saw improvement in the distortion in vision in my right eye. I have not needed further injectons for approx 6 months as there is no suspicious activity.
However I now notice an increase in floaters in the right eye and a darkening in vision. Im also having trouble distinguishing what might be futher distortion or might be floaters disrupting my vision.
I have such a high prescription that the scans are not always good at picking up activity and it seems to be down to my reports of vision... this seems so subjective even when I try to use the grid to measure vision. Does any one else find this and is the darkening a normal experience with others.

I guess that's the right response, its only that I have mentioned this before, they cant see any significant cataract development so ruled this out.
They can see any problem with fluid or another cnv. One thing thst they dont seem to do much about is the constant pressure in the right eye it is around 21 whilst the left is 16, this is a change I think related to the Eylea.
Really not sure what to do as the scan that are done are not always of good quality my prescription is - 26 and-27.
All in all not sure if to push for another injection as this migjt make things worse or to carry on and risk a slow deterioration.
They should be doing something about the IOP I think if it hits 22. I got my rise from Lucentis and it's continued with Eyelea and also ozurdex implants. Simple treatment with eye drops twice a day.
I started on Timolol 7 yrs ago which controlled it until the ozurdex when they changed to Azarga (brinzolomide/timolol).
I don't understand why they aren't bothered when you say you have continued darkening - if they don't think its the cataract what do they think it is??! I would get a second opinion.
The inj only help with the leaky vessels / oedema so if there isn't any there's no point pushing for one. However, if the OCT scans are poor maybe ask if a fluorescein angiography will show them what's going on?
Also get them to check if your eye is dry which can affect vision.
