Has anyone experience swelling in the good eye months after cataract surgery and now both good eye and bad feel like the cataract is still present? The surgeon has not explained anything to me and still have me on steriod drops. It is frustrating as I cannot get a clear answer. He referred me to the institute where I get my injections and they are quite not sure why he referred me as that eye does not have AMD.

Swelling after cataract surgery
Hi, sounds like you have post operative CMO (cystoid macular oedema). Inflammation post surgery will always occur hence the drops. Sometimes the inflammation can cause swelling known as CMO. This should settle but can take time, some people need the steroids/anti-inflammatory drops for a while.
Take care
Thank you. Understanding what it is gives me some peace of mind.
He might have referred you due to ongoing oedema - the inj aren't just for wetmd. I would contact his secretary and ask for clarification, or ask that your inj clinic clarify with him for you.
Problems can arise post op so dont let it slide, better safe than sorry. It's only right that things are properly explained to you . Best wishes going forwards.
That is true. I did call and advise them and have appointment in 3 weeks. thank you eyesright.
