Hi, I have had CSCR episodes in my left eye for a number of years now. They seem to resolve but keep returning,, at least once a year. I had a flare up a few weeks ago and my consultant has suggested Photodynamic Therapy for this Friday. I agreed but now I worry it may end up doing more bad than good, as previous episodes have resolved. I do have small defects in my eye from previous times it has been bad but my vision when now fluid is present is actually very good (I have myopia but lenses correct it well). Any advice from people who have had PDT for CSCR would be much appreciated.

I can't help you barbie but I am sure someone will eventually come on here who can help. Hang on in there. x
Good Morning barbiedog,
I hope someone who has had PDT comes along and shares their experience with you soon,
If you have facebook, there is a page specific to CSR which will have members who will be able to share your experience, there are 2 pages which are below:
facebook.com/groups/1594058...
facebook.com/Central-Serous...
If you like, you can email or call us here at the macular society, although we don't have personal experience we can talk to you a little bit about PDT and any worries or concerns that you have
Thanks,
Becky

Thanks very much. I spoke to my consultant today and I am not having the pdt tomorrow. There was a crossed wires thing over when this episode of cscr had started. So basically I am going for a check up in a couple of months. Glad I rang.
Hi I've been funded for pdt since 2008 I do think its helped but over the years even with treatment my sight isn't great. My left eye been the worst, do u get excruciating pain down the side of your face? Regards mandy
