Hi, I have wet AMD in one eye and dry in the other. Having treatment which is going ok. Should I stop wearing varifocals? Have been advised that single vision lens are better when you have wet AMD. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Good Morning Badgolfer45,

There isn't really a right or wrong answer to this question, if you feel you manage with varifocals or bifocals, then you can continue to do so, people who's eyesight isn't that affected continue to use varifocals.

However, if there becomes any noticeable impact to sight, then generally single vision lenses are preferable; separate for close up and distance vision.

So if, at the moment, you are comfortable using varifocals then continue to do so.

Best Wishes,

Becky
