Hello. I found out about 6 mos. ago that I have wet AMD in my right eye, and dry AMD in my left. I have been receiving shots in my right eye every month or so since. I forget what they call the medication that is injected - begins with letter "A" - the usual stuff.
Anyway, 10 days after my last shot a black ring with a gold colored center appeared suddenly in the field of vision of my right eye. It has appeared to be be flying around
like an insect for a week now. The eye doc will not communicate directly with his patients. But one of the techs finally informed me that the doc says to just ignore the problem, and show up for the next appointment.
Has anyone else had a similar "ring" appear? The ten days that passed after the injection before it appeared makes it seem especially strange to me. The fact that it is still happening a full week later is troubling. Any comments? Thanks.

Hi, I've had shiny black " polo mint' straight after an inj but never appeared so long after. I'd ring your eye clinic for advice just to be safe.
I called them 3 times, then sent a fax. That finally got their attention, and a tech called me back. He said the doc said I should just come to my next scheduled appointment and not be too concerned.
Hi Jihm; I had the same thing after my first injection, it's a bubble of air as far as I can tell and it's quite common. Most people say they usually fade and disperse after a few days but mine is still there after two and a half months. I asked the doc and he said 'nothing to worry about, quite normal' so I have got used to it now. In bright light due to refraction it shows with a dark centre; in low light shows as a bubble.
Thanks, Mike! Mine is very similar. Good to know I am not the only one. Today is the 8th day I have had it. What is odd is that it only showed up 10 days after the last inj. I just hope I don't get a second bubble with a future inj, or I might need to hire a "traffic controller" to coordinate their flight patterns (Ha ha).
They are strange aren't they Jihm. Mine's not always there and it's quite small. I have given it the name 'Dion' after his famous hit record 'The Wanderer'. You'll soon get used to it and ignore it. When I first had it I always thought it was a fly going by.
Mine varies quite a bit in its apparent size, Mike. At times I can hardly notice it. At times it appears larger than a large bee flying around - similar colors to a bee too!
Hi jihm, I got eyelia for my CRVO and the same air bubble stayed for 3-4 days and then disappeared. Probably common side effect of some medication. Hope you feel better.
Unusual for something like this to appear so long after injection so would not think related as the injection site heals quite quickly . .usually about 5 days and yours sounds rather large. Did you have ' blobs' before treatment? I had a blob of 'frogspawn' before Eylea injections and that can be a feature of AMD. Hopefully not too long until next appointment. Luckily I can turn up at eye clinic if really worried.
And yes after last injection I had a tiny black ringed gold swirling planet dangling in 3D in lower vision . .even when I closed my eyes! Quite missed it when it disappeared after 2 days!
Interesting, Catseyes. My own swirling black ringed gold "planet" appeared 10 days after the last injection, and is still there 10 days later. It moves around all over the place - sometimes even in the center of my field of vision. It is quite annoying. I think it is a bubble from the last injection that took 10 days to enter even my peripheral field of vision, I can't imagine what else it could be.
Hmm . .I daresay you will find out when you have next appointment. Sounds like a floater with extra pizzazz! My brother (who also gets injections ) and I were discussing the elusiveness of blobs, spots and such like. Not easy to describe to those who haven't experienced this. Good luck ... Hope not too long to next appointment.
Thanks! But I don't think it is a floater. I think it is a bubble. And I am trying to get it checked out more locally before I drive the 60 miles to my next appointment on May. eleventh. And, by coincidence, I just got a call, and a local appointment for May 1st.
Update. The local eye doctor (optometrist) says it is definitely a bubble, and not just a bubble of air, or (he reasons) it would rise to the top of the eye (vitreous) instead of migrating all over the place. It took him a long while to find the bubble in my eye. He doubted it was a bubble until he finally was able to see it. When he did, he exclaimed, excitedly, "There it is!". He had never seen anything like it before, and thought it was very interesting. But, he has no idea what to make of it.
